Emily Slicker
Owner
Multi-Genre Instructor
Since 2001, Slick Motion Studios owner, Emily Slicker has been a passionate and active leader in the dance community. After starting her career in Louisville, Kentucky, she and her family moved to Palmetto, FL in 2018. Her husband, David and their 4 sons have loved being able to call Florida "home". She has eagerly sought to bring a new energy to the dance community around her.
Her vision behind Slick Motion Studios is to grow and train up well-rounded performers that are prepared to boldly conquer any stage, dance floor or situation life throws at them while loving others well along the way.
She loves to express herself through all genres of dance, but is especially fond of Hip Hop. Having been the Head Coach and choreographer for Varsity High School dance teams, She loves to compete and bring the entertainment factor into her routines.
She is also Acrobatic Arts certified.
Jacob Melton
After receiving a BA in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition from CSULB, Jacob enrolled in the ABT National Training Program.
As a teacher he has taught ballet classes at the Onstage Dance Center, The Dance Co., Beach Cities Dance Studio, McCoy Rigby Arts, and the Dance West Dance Studio. As a Performer he performed with The O.C. Metropolitan Ballet Company for over ten years and his experience includes dancing soloist and corpse roles in: “A Mid Summer Night's Dream,” “Petrushka,” and “The Nutcracker.” He has also performed in international dance festivals in Prague, Spain, and Italy.
As a student, he performed in over 40 school productions featuring ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, and contemporary dance. His early ballet training was based on classical Russian technique, and in college (CSULB) he studied under Lorin Johnson, Steven Hyde, and Lisa Johnson. He has also taken master classes with Travis Wall, Denise Wall, and Mandy Moore.
Jacob is a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports and Medicine, NASM, and specializes in gym cross training for dancers. Jacob has a NASM specialization in Virtual coaching and is a NASM certified Youth Exercise Specialist.

Kim Adams
Multi-Genre Instructor
With 26 years of pliés, grand jetés, and pirouettes under her belt, her dance journey is defined by a deep-rooted passion for movement.
With a BA in Communication and a Minor in Fine Art for Dance and Photography, she is also Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Certified, with a focus on classical ballet. Originally hailing from sunny Florida and then soaking up the energy of New York, she's spent years teaching ballet (including pre-pointe and pointe), contemporary/modern, jazz, tap and even a little acro and hip-hop at various studios.
Kim has also performed and competed across different styles throughout her time dancing. Now, she brings her wealth of experience and infectious love for dance to Slick Motion, eager to nurture the next generation of dancers while fostering a sense of community.
Tap Instructor
Chelsea Bonner
Chelsea is thrilled to join Slick Motion Studios as the new tap dance teacher! With 17 years of training in tap, jazz, and ballet, Chelsea’s deep connection to tap has inspired her to pursue a teaching role and share her passion with aspiring young dancers.
She began dancing at the age of 3 and quickly discovered a deep appreciation for the movement and rhythm of dance. Over the years, Chelsea has honed her skills, building a solid foundation in technique, musicality, and performance. Her dedication to the art form has led her to train with top industry professionals and perform in theater productions, local performances, and dance competitions.
With a Bachelor in Fine Art, she has not only excelled in the technical aspects of dance but also has a strong foundation in the broader world of the arts. Her academic background enriches her approach to teaching, giving students a deeper understanding of movement, creativity, and artistic expression. In addition, she has served as a substitute school teacher for multiple grade levels and volunteered as an assistant ballet teacher where she worked with students to develop their technical skills and performance abilities. These roles allowed her to further refine her teaching methods and gain valuable insight into how to effectively communicate with and motivate students of all ages.
In the studio, she is dedicated to sharing her love for tap dance with students of all ages. She is passionate about helping students discover their rhythm, develop their coordination, and gain confidence on stage. She believes that dance is not just about movement, but about telling a story through rhythm and sound, and she strives to make each class an opportunity for students to grow both as dancers and individuals.
Outside of the studio, she enjoys spending her time at the beach, reading, and volunteering at the Sea Turtle Rehab Center for The Florida Aquarium, where she helps care for and rehabilitate sea turtles. She also cherishes spending time with her husband and three dogs, enjoying the balance of family life and her passion for nature and animals.
Donna Filippone
Multi-Genre Instructor
Donna‘s extensive background includes owning and operating two dancing schools for 19 years before relocating with her family to Florida.
Donna is certified by the prestigious Dance Masters of America, where she served on the Board of Directors, certified by Dance Educators of America and is past president of the International Teachers of Dance.
Her career has taken her from Dancer, Competitor, national champion, Coach, choreographer, and adjudicator for many dance competitions. Donna has taught in the LWR area for years & is excited to be teaching at Slick Motion Studios!
